Have you noticed that you have been a bit distracted lately? Do you spend a substantial amount of time looking at your phone or other devices before you shut your eyes for a good night sleep? The LINK Research Labe and the Free Life People™ School of Yoga are teaming up to instruct a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) centered on yoga and wellness in the digital age. This course will be open and free for interested learners around the globe.

The YogaMOOC will discuss the science-backed implications of the digital age on our health and teach participants how to balance their hectic lives filled with various digital devices with our own self-care. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss yoga and meditation with people from across the world. In addition, participants can encourage friends, family, and colleagues to sign up with them to build a great community of support.

Registration for the Yoga MOOC is now open, with the class set to run October 16 through November 26, 2017. To register for the class, just click the “Join” tab.

I am excited to do this course. I have been a practitioner of yoga for several years but discontinued and became irregular. Now in mid 50s I realise what a mistake I did. The main impact the digital gadgets had on me is serious neck and back problems which I could have avoided by continuing yoga. I am also excited I may learn some theory too. Best to all co-learners and thanks to course team

The reason I signed up for this course is because I have Parkinson’s disease (PD)[sic]. From all the reading I’ve done, yoga is especially good for PD. If there are any more attendees who have PD, I would be very willing to form a Parkinson’s Support Group in conjunction with this class. It can take many forms depending on the specific area of interest (or just general support), the number of people who wish to take part, and their locations. I will await any input.

In addition, I wonder what is actually involved in getting the certificate. do you guys have a sense of the time commitment?
